Dennis Gould with Dave Ayre, Matt Hopkins & Hugh Blogg: The Mask

Dennis Gould, Dave Ayre, Matt Hopkins & Hugh Blogg perform perhaps the finest ballad in the English language - Percy Bysshe Shelley's, "The Mask Of Anarchy". Dennis is a legendary 83-year-old Stroud poet who still believes in the Art of Anarchy, the Craft of Poetry & Pamphleteering and who spends much of his time printing his quirky and indivdual-style posters in his Stroud print shop. This limited edition CD EP features Dennis with musicians, Dave Ayre, Matt Hopkins (guitar) and Hugh Blogg (violin). Dave is a freelance double bass musician who appears regularly with the BBC Concert Orchestra, the RPO and many other top class ensembles. He has also worked with many popular and jazz artists, including Damon Albarn, Johnny Dankworth, Yehudi Menhuin and Joni Mitchell. In 2017, Dennis invited Dave to compose a jazz underscore to accompany a reading of Shelley's The Mask Of Anarchy and this recording was made close to the 200th anniversary of the Peterloo Fields Massacre of August 16th 1819.
