From the 1970s Tony Byworth was among the most active contributors to the country music scene, having built a reputation on both sides of the Atlantic. His journey, alongside the road travels, chronicled changes in country music in which many of the music’s prime entertainers played a role, including legendary figures like Patsy Montana, Tex Ritter, Eddy Arnold, Ray Price and Hank Williams, outlaws headed up by Waylon Jennings and Willie Nelson, crossover artists like Dolly Parton, Crystal Gayle, George Hamilton IV, Don Williams and mighty superstars George Strait and Garth Brooks, all contributing in making Nashville a Country Music Mecca. Many of these artists, along with industry movers and shakers, became good friends with the writer.
This book also provides a personal insight into country music outside of Nashville, Tennessee as well as well as within British shores.
His achievements have resulted in Tony Byworth receiving many awards through the years, the first from the Country Music Association of Gt. Britain which was followed by recognition from the Country Music Association in Nashville, while in Austin the state flag was flown over the Capitol building to honour his support of Texas music. He was inducted into the British Country Hall of Fame in 2012.
