never received the credit due him for popularising rock’n’roll
in Britain in the 50s, although anyone who has seen him live
will testify to his importance. Several early recordings are
included, some (made at HMV studios in Oxford Street in 1957)
could have been recorded at Sun in Memphis. Some later 60s and
70s recordings are also featured. (Three tracks not included
